Eracism
ERACISM deconstructs the marginalized Black political status quo by exploring the political divergence that emerged in the mid 1960′s and early 1970′s, in the context of the “ruling political bulls” vs. the emerging political bucks. Ultimately, the dichotomy between the civil rights movement and Black power movement crystallized into a Harlem and Brooklyn Black political leadership schism that played out in the framework of the old guard (Harlem) verses the vanguard (peoples Republic of Brooklyn). The current leadership stalemate in Albany has its roots in the Harlem, “old guard” and Brooklyn, “vanguard” juxtaposition which has facilitated Hispanic leadership in the New York State Senate. This comprehensive work recalls familiar events and personalities as seen and experienced, vis-a-vis, the main character.
